Today we would like to present One of many items from our shop.
I am selling a life time collection for a friend. All dolls from this collection are sold “As Is”
Today we offer an Extremely Rare French Bisque shoulder head doll Fisherman. He was made by one of the most recognizable doll manufacturers Francois Gaultier FG. He has a French Fashion Doll facial expression.
12-14" Early French Doll Francois Gaultier FG Fisherman Doll ~ Very Rare ~ 1890ca+
He is All Original and in a fine condition, I believe he was made in 1885-1890ca+.
He is 12-14” tall with his hat on.
The doll is very lovely and has a very beautiful original detailed costume with fishermen’s accessories. .
He has lovely detailed painted facial features. His head or shoulder plate has No damages, He has a pale bisque head with close mouth and with wonderful blue enamel glass eyes, they were originally set by the manufacturer. He has pierced ears with one fisherman’s type earring.
He has original cork pate, which is still attached to his head, never been opened, with mohair hair wig attached to his cork.
The back of his head is engraved with 2/0
He has very detailed and defined painted facial features,
He is dressed in original old French Provincial costume with twill red jacket and striped shirt underneath,
He has Grey pants with tall black molded boots and striped knitted socks. He has his original fisherman yellow hat. He has heavy woven fishing rope over his arm and original wrapped fishing net over his shoulder. he has a linen pouch to hold a lot of fish. He also holds a lot of fish in a rope in both his hands.
He is in excellent condition, I don’t see any hairlines, chips or cracks, no repairs and no odors
I believe his body is made of terra-cotta from what I have read. It is strong and sturdy. He stands on his own but I have a stand for him. The stand comes with him.
His clothing is a little aged but generally in a great condition. No big damages or tears or repairs.
