    Description

A beautiful and rare example of perhaps
the smallest sized Bru Brevete from the late 1870's. She measures 10”
with her pressed bisque head and kid body. Her pale bisque gives an
angelic glow to her chubby face, and is free of hairlines or chips,
with only cheek rubs and a tiny kiln speck (there is residue glue
around the crown). She has blue paperweight eyes, pierced ears (with
tiny vintage turquoise earrings), bisque lower arms and hands (there
is a tiny chip to one finger tip). The painting on this petite doll
is exquisite, with delicate painted lashes, feathered brows, light
red lips and rosy cheeks. She has her original cork pate with
remnants of her antique wig. She has a replacement period style
blonde mohair wig as well. The back of her head is marked 6/0. Her
breastplate has been professionally replaced. Her kid body is very
sturdy with gusset jointing at her hips and knees (which are bent).
This diminutive Bebe has a large
trousseau. These beautiful outfits change her appearance from
enchanting princess to endearing country girl. Her wardrobe is listed
    below:
Vintage French style Bebe dress in
a light teal color, with accent mother of pearl buttons, lace cuffs
    and snap closures.
    Vintage yellow silk dress with
lace front, floral appliques and pink silk belt. Snap closures.
    Vintage velvet coat with
    rhinestone lapels and snap closure.
    Elaborate pink dress made of
antique silks and fabrics. Layered lace collar, and pink silk ribbon
accents. Sewn in slip and button closures.
    White cotton pantaloons with
    ribbon closure.
    Vintage cotton stockings.
    Vintage silk dress with lace
collar and brass decorative applique, faux mother of pearl buttons,
    and snap closures.
    Vintage purple, cotton and lace
dress with matching bonnet. Snap closures
    French Period style leather shoes
    with decorative appliques.
    Vintage/antique satin shoes with
snap closures. Some wear and fading due to age. One decorative satin
bow is missing from one shoe.
    Antique green silk bonnet with
decorative lace and floral accents. Wear from age.
    Antique lace bonnet with ribbon
    tie.
She has an antique paper lithographed
doll trunk in which she, her wardrobe and pets can comfortably be
stored. The trunk has a removable shelf, metal latch and leather
straps. There is wear from age throughout the trunk including one
broken hinge. The trunk also adds an air of history when displayed
    with this beautiful doll.
She is accompanied by her small
menagerie. This consists of an antique Steiff pony and poodle, and
    antique mohair baby goats.
She is an absolutely charming example
of Leon Casimir Bru's Brevete series in a petite size which is rarely
seen. She will be the treasure of any doll display.
