Antique French Bisque Head Promotional Display Doll

Description

French bisque head promotional display doll maybe used in a high end candy store in France.
He is 14 inches tall and stands on a round platform (total height about 16 inches).
The doll has blue set eyes, painted upper/lower lashes, feathered brows, pierced ears and a blond mohair wig.
The plump torso is hollow and it feels like his legs are wood.
There is a metal rod with a wood ball handle attached to the arms.
When the rod is moved up and down, his arms wave up and down. The doll is wearing an elaborate Marquis costume decorated with gilt fretwork edging and a bi-corn hat.
He was made by May Freres and marked: M2.  Circa 1895.
Condition: There is fraying to some of the silk ribbons, a little dust in his hat, wear to the leather gloves covering his hands and light soil.
