Description
ANTIQUELovely French Fashion by Emile Jumeau, France circa 1870. Beautiful pale, creamy bisque head on kid lined shoulderplate. 18" tall.
Stunning light blue glass enamel paperweight eyes with dark outer rim. She has finely painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brows, molded and accented lips and blushed cheeks. Her wig is a soft strawberry blonde mohair, made in France. She has her original cork pate.
The body is muslin with joints at hips and knees. The arms are kid leather with separately stitched fingers. There is the number "3" stamped into her shoulderplate.
Condition: Bisque head has smooth patina with one small kiln spot on her right cheeks. There is a superficial cut on her left ear that does not go through. The line from the rim to the left ear is a mold line, Not a hairline.
Wearing a new silk ensemble created by an expert seamstress in the French sewing technique. It is all hand made. The bodice and overskirt are a light blue and white silk with multiple layers of pleating and tiny white pearl buttons. The underskirt is a white silk with blue and gold stripes. All pieces are totally lined in white. Her undergarments are; a long half slip, a bustle, antique split-crotch pantaloons, white stockings and beige, heeled kid leather slippers.
The hat alone is a work of art, having multiple ribbons, laces and trims.
