  • Condition: There are several small glaze flakes and please see pics #5, #6, #7, and #8. Because of the type of clay, the firing temperature, and the process used to make these, these types of glaze flakes are common in Viennet's work and even examples listed as perfect will frequently have tiny flakes. I am forthrightly highlighting the flakes, but they are very common and not really detracting and the plate displays beautifully as shown. Except for the flakes shown, no issues on my honest inspection in strong light. No chips, cracks, repairs, or wear to the painting.

    Description

    Beautiful trompe l'oeil plate of onions and parsnips by the very talented Christne Viennet.
    A beautiful example of her work and I especially like the mottled ground and painted garland on the plate itself.
    Comes from a local Dallas estate, well signed as shown and guaranteed authentic.
    Measures about 10" across.
