couple of black dolls all original by Fleischmann . FRENCH ANTIQUE DOLL

Description

very interesting couple of colored dolls in traditional costume :
costume of North Africa.
circa 1900.
Fleischmann dolls certainly sold with the trademark Eden Bebe, with bisque german head for the french market.
The bisque heads are in good condition (no hairline, no restoration , controlled with a light), just a tiny superficial chip (boy's head) due to a wig pull.
Open mouth, black inset eyes.
The boy stands 14 1/6" tall (36 cm) and has a head incised '3/0'.
The girl stands 13" tall (33 cm) and has a head incised '4/0'.
Rich costume in good condition.
The dolls are in original condition so the elastics are loose but they can stay like that on a stand. The mohair of the wigs is a glued mohair (it is not a wig) so it is a little used.
They were found like that except the leather shoes (antique) of the boy which were added.
The bodies are the classic 5 parts bodies used for the folkloric dolls. They are in good used condition but there are some chips of painting at one arm (girl).
The girl is blacker than the boy.
