Dragon Armor Tiger I Hybrid - Tiger-Gruppe FehrmannNo. 60290, Vintage year - 2007; Scale - 1:72
Unit - Tiger-Gruppe Fehrmann
Campaign - Germany 1945
History - In early 1945, Kampfgruppe Schulze and Oberleutnant created an ad hoc division of six Tiger Is and five Panther tanks to enter the Ruhr area. The Tigers were commanded by Fehrmann and thus designated with an "F" to denote their "Gruppe" commander. This was tank No. 13 as per the turret marking. In April 1945, the group reached the Aller River and then Nienburg where it added a Grenadier Division. On 9 April the group entered Wietersheim where they encountered heavy contact with the Allies. The remainder of the tanks went to Buckeburg and several tanks got stuck in the mud. These tanks were destroyed and their crews (including Fehrmann) were captured. F05 was commanded by Kampgruppe Schulze and destroyed three Shermans and a scout car based on one account. It then retreated to Wendthagen area and one account has it breaking through a roadblock and allowing for the release of 200 German POWs before finally running out of fuel near Bad-Nennoff.
Model - these Tiger I tanks were a rather motley collection of hybrid vehicles exhibiting features such as steel wheels on Early Production hulls. These vehicles were sourced from the Lehr School at Fallingbostel and were quickly entered into the fray.
Markings - Slate gray with black and brown camouflage and F13 in white on side of turret.
Condition - New with minor shelf wear on cardboard box
