    Description

Up for sale is a very nice condition Gibson L-4 from the 1930's   This model was made from late 1920's through early 1940's (1928-1934).  It has a 16" body.   Before 1934, the L-4 was an oval-hole guitar with the neck joining at the 12'th fret.  After1935 Gibson switched to the 'F' holes design.
    Top - Spruce
    Back/Sides - Curly Maple
    Neck - Mahogany
    Fretboard & Bridge - Rosewood
    Lower bout 16"
    Upper bout 11 1/2"
    Overall Length 40 1/2"
    Stringlength 24 3/4"
    Body depth 3 1/4"
    Width at nut 1 3/4"
The action is real nice.  I have it set at 1/16 at the 12'th fret and the bridge height is just over 7/8".  This gives plenty of room to adjust the action up or down to your preference.  It is presently strung with .012 to .054 bronze strings.  This guitar has a nice 'V' neck feel.  The truss rod works well.  The frets do not have any wear, so I am assuming that they were replaced.
This guitar has all origonal finish and hardware.  The tuning gears work OK, but I am including a set of Stewmac replacement tuners that you can upgrade at your option and convenience.
There has been some repair work done to this guitar.  T
he work is very clean and guitar has been stable since I have had it.
Here are the issues of note with this guitar:
There was a heel block crack that has been expertly repaired.
The frets show little to no wear.  Obviously a re-fret has been done.  Excellent re-fret job
As mentioned above, I am including a set of replacements tuners from Stew-Mac.  These match the guitar and have the Kluson vs the Grover screw hole spacing.
    I will ship in a hard-shell case.

I will only ship domestic because of rosewood CITES restrictions.  Also I recommend to ship insured with delivery signature confirmation.  I have adjusted the shipping cost to reflect this.
