This is an excellent Stereo card of an
expert examining fine imported gowns in the appraising division of the New York customhouse
. It was made by
Keystone
and is from the very Rare
History 300 card set
(the cards are numbered H1 to H300) from about the
late 1930's
. This set features many unique photos of people, places, events, and objects of importance in American History and contains many Rare and unusual views that were not included in any other sets. This card is titled "New York Customhouse - an Expert Examining Fine Imported Gowns in Appraisement Division." with a Keystone negative number of V26131 and a position number of H272. It is in excellent to near mint condition and measures 3 1/2" by 7”. The back of the card is printed with information about the subject. Stereoviews or Stereo Cards have two nearly identical images mounted side by side. When looked at through a stereo viewer they give a three-dimensional image. Most popular from 1854 to 1938, they were produced in vast quantities, and many are of historical interest. They usually measure about 3 ½” by 7”.
