    Description

Napoleonic Wars French Cuirassiers Breastplate that I made out of fiberglass and cloth over 35 years ago.  Yes, even to me, this piece seems ancient.  The pictures you see are of me wearing it back in the day.  Some of the material has faded and it is not as pristine as it once was but still I put a lot of man hours into building it as it was and is a one of a kind piece built by me.  Just imagine how long it would take you to make something entirely from scratch like this.  Just learning how to work with fiberglass for this one project was tough.  The over powering smell of raw fiberglass made this my one and only time to ever want to work with this material.  If I charged by the man hours it took to build this piece, not even to mention the materials, it would be too expensive for anyone to buy.  However, at this time, I am just ready to sell it to a historian of the
Napoleonic Wars or collector.  At the time,
I had just read a large novel called ' Napoleon ' and was truly inspired.  It would not take much effort to do some fine tuning on this armor and display it on your wall.  That is what I did for about 12 years of it's life.  Besides making this breastplate, I made everything else you see me wearing in the picture.  In addition, I made a French Imperial Guard hat as well as making a massive diorama of The Battle of Waterloo with hundreds of 1/72 figures (also for sale) and making a pencil drawing of the same battle on four sheet of typing paper (also for sale).  The Napoleonic French Empire Dragoons Heavy Cavalry Regiment Horse helmet you see in one of the pictures with the leopard skin head band is also for sale for 9.  There is no back plate with this breastplate.
