    Description

Negrito Bolo Kampilan Barong Talibon Ginunting Vietnam Era
    Blade has been sharpened
Handle is tight with no movement internally, but the brass collar is loose as is common on these models
No backstory on this individual piece but I’ve owned many like it and can give a basic background: the negrito are a Filipino tribe living around a US Airfirce base in the Philippines. Around Vietnam they began making blades to sell to US soldiers. Many are floating around but usually fetch a hefty price and alas they are no longer made. These are not tourist junk that many places offer. They are made in the traditional way usually in village forged from auto leaf springs.
