    Description

    NYC Cast Iron Antique Fire Escape Sign/Plaque taken from a NYC Tenement during demolition. The tenement was built in the 1890's and these warning signs were bolted to the fire escapes.
    Untouched original patina. Never painted. Hard to find in this condition.
    The sign reads: "NOTICE ANYONE PLACING AN INCUMBRANCE ON THIS BALCONY OR STAIRWAY WILL BE FINED TEN DOLLARS OR THE OBJECTS FORMING SUCH INCUMBRANCE WILL BE CONFISCATED"
    The sign is cast iron and measures 11 3/4 inches in length by 4 1/2 inches in height.
    Original condition. Beautiful untouched aged patina. If you would like any more photos, or have any questions, I will happily reply.
