    Description

    This is a beautiful piece of Plains Native American artwork. The cradle is made from a moccasin.   The seams are hand sewn and the beadwork is done by hand. The black fabric on the sides is black wool. Inside the "heel area" there is some reinforcing on the sides that runs partway down the shoe.  I think this was added when the beadwork was reattached to the cradle but that is a best guess. The beadwork is particularly pretty. The designs are made with greasy yellow, green, white and dark blue.  A very interesting and unusual doll toy with rich cultural history and wonderful artistry -- great for a collection. Authentic in all ways -- one of my favorite doll items in my collection. Measures 10" long X 2" D at sides. Front panel is 6" X 3 1/2".
