Rare Antique 27" HUNTING SURVIVAL Saw Knife MACHETE Fixed Blade ca. 1830's

i had this antique Saw - knife for approx. 20 years and got it as a trade in for some antiques I was selling to a friend in Florida. I may took it out to antique shows a handful times over the years and showed it to just a few weeks ago at a local antique show . ( nobody could go by the booth without picking it up and waving it around ) . When I originally got it I was told it is a amputation knife but several people I ask told me that it is not ( it would have been for an elephant or something as big .) time went by and the internet made it easier to check things out and we still are not 100 % sure what it is . We took it a few weeks ago to an Amish man that deals in old tools and ( before he saw it .. he said its a hay knife ) after he saw it he had no idea what it could be . At the same time a second man looks at the knife and said its an ice knife . We check that out as well and again ... it does not look like an ice knife . After days of searching we came across modern machetes and we very strongly believe that it is a antique machete . It is all including 27 inches long ... the sawblade part is 19.5 inches long and has an solid mahogany wood crib. ( the handle is of course made out of 2 halfs which then where locked together after putting the blade in place,  with Square pegs .) if you need closeups please ask . The blade is like a very  thick sawblade being a little less than a quarter inch thick . The only making we could find is on the blade is the number : 1831 .as you can see in the pictures it is in fair antique condition with a piece of the handle missing and much corrosion on the blade , several spots and even some rust . The handle has several deep scratches on the one side . Again please look at all the pictures .
Please note , this is a very old antique sawblade knife ... please do not expect a new item , antique items have most of the time flaws .
