USED 1968 Hofbrauhaus Beer Stein – Direct from the Hofbrauhaus to you.

This has always been the gem of my collection. Not the most valuable piece – but the centerpiece. In 1968 I attended the Octoberfest in Munchen. After 14 days, when I left the Hofbrauhaus I had 9 of these in my backpack. By the time I came home – a few months later – this one is all that I had left. This stein started me collecting steins in the 53 years since.
This is what I say about this stein – IT HAS SEEN A LOT!
Has it been used? ABSOLUTELY! It is definitely at least 53 years old – and I personally know the 19 y.o. that drank from it. And I have first-hand knowledge that no one has used it since 1968. I was always afraid of breaking this one!
This is not a cheap knock-off – it is heavy and made to Prosit with your tablemate.
Considering its age, it is in very good shape. It has a couple of chips along the rim from being in that backpack in 1968 – but no cracks

It has a 1L at the calibration mark
Seriously, I did my best to protect it all these years – you can’t replace quality like this.
