is guaranteed to be an original and not reproduction

Smokey The Bear is the official mascot of the United States Forest Service.
The actual live Smokey Bear came to be after a little bear cub was orphaned and rescued from a major forest fire.
That forest fire occurred in the Lincoln National Forest located in the state of New Mexico, USA.
The U.S. Forest Service adopted the orphaned bear cub and created him as their official mascot in the year 1944.
The Forest Service did this to help educate the general public on the dangers of forest and wild fires.
Smokey’s proper and correct formal name is “
Smokey Bear
” however most know him as “
Smokey The Bear
”
There are many collectible items related to Smokey Bear.
They range from official stuffed animals to bumper stickers to pencils and ruler and of course collectible patches.
Many items, such as this metal sign we are offering in this eBay Auction, are very and highly collectible to collectors of Smokey The Bear Items and Artifacts!
This obsolete metal sign was created and used to mark the boundary line / property line of land holdings owned by the U.S. Forest Service.
These signs were placed along the property lines to indicate the property was owned by the federal government more specifically the U.S. Forest Service.
These metal signs were never sold to the general pubic by the forest service and are only available second market from a collector or dealer such as our family owned collectibles business.
The front of the metal sign features a bright yellow background with a facial portrait of Smokey The Bear In the center of the sign.
At the top of the sign, in outlined brown lettering is the wording “
Boundary Marker
”, telling you that this sign was used to mark the boundary of the U.S. Forest Service Property.
Surround Smokey Bear’s Face, in brown lettering, is the motto of the Smokey Bear Program, “
Only You Can Prevent Wildfires
”.
Below his facial portrait, in small brown lettering, is the wording, “
Do Not Remove This Sign
”, warning anyone in the field that it is unlawful to remove the metal sign from where it is attached to.
Below this, in even smaller brown lettering, is the wording, “
SB 4x4
”, which is a catalog number used by the U.S. Forest Service with their informational signs. At the peaks, both top and bottom are nail holes used to attach the sign to a tree or post.
The light duty aluminum sign measures 4” by 4” and contains 6 different styles / sizes of lettering and 2 very vivid colors. The back side of the sign is blank with just a white enamel finish.
The obsolete sign we are selling here in this eBay Auction has not been used in the field or any other place and is in excellent condition as can be seen in the photographs.
The metal we are selling in this eBay listing and the metal sign you will receive are new / unused and have attached to anything or been used in the field.
The metal sign you will receive will be in excellent condition and the same as the one seen in the photographs. We do use stock photographs in our listing ads which means the metal sign you will receive may or may not vary slightly in color or detail.
The metal sign you receive will be an original, new sign but some signs in the production run do vary slightly from sign to sign.

Which packing method used will depend on the particular item you have won from us.
The shipping and handling charge will include the packing method described in the paragraph above and a shipping label produced using our business PayPal Account.
In doing so, it will include delivery confirmation along with barcode addressing.
