    Description

    This listing is for the QRP transmitter in the photos. I make these to order so please allow 7 to 10 days for shipment once your order is placed.
    A few of the parts, like the 6U6 vacuum tube and the crystal holder are used, so even though recently constructed, I need to list this item as used. You may use a 6V6 tube in lieu of the 6U6, but the power output will be reduced. These tubes have the same pin-outs, so there's nothing to change when switching from a 6U6 to a 6V6.
    This is a low power transmitter, with self-contained power supply. With the front panel control the power output is variable from about 100 to 400 milliwatts. It keys nicely, with good tone, using the HC49/U tall QRP crystals, and, of course works well with the standard FT-243 types.
    You will receive 2 coils and 2 crystals, one each for the 80 and 40 meter bands, similar to those shown in the photos. With the 40m coil, on the extreme edge of the tuning range, I was also able to load up on 30 meter cw. So you can work that band if you wind a coil with a little less inductance.
    I can paint the chassis black, gray, green, red or blue at no extra charge. So just let me know is you want something different than that pictured.
    Even though the power is low, with rectified dc being only about 50 volts, there's exposed 117 volt ac going into the chassis. So internally this chassis can still be quite lethal if you do not handle it with proper respect. Please do not purchase this item if you are not familiar with working around dangerous voltage.
    I guarantee this transmitter will work if you hook it up properly. Of course, you will need a valid ham radio license if you intend to transmit on the ham bands.
    I'm not very gifted at drawings, but will hand sketch a schematic diagram for you, along with a description and location of the various controls. The output tank circuit uses a conventional Pi-network design.
