Vintage Case Iron UF United Firefighter Insurance Steam Engine Plaque

Up for bids is a vintage cast i
ron United Firefighter (UF) Insurance steam engine plaque.  Back in the very old days, private firefighting services existed, and they would only take on the dangers of firefighting for their paying customers.  A plaque such as this one was
fixed
to the front of a home to make such membership clear.  The plaque is currently painted with a red engine/UF and a black background, but you could certainly repaint it to suit your taste.  It measures approximately 11" by 9".  It is in excellent, solid condition, weighing
approximately 10 pounds.  It could still be mounted on the exterior of a home, or it could just as easily be used for interior wall decoration.
It is a very nice piece for display, or it would also make a nice addition to any collection of firefighting memorabilia.
