Vintage Corneta 127 Machete Made in El Salvador Leather Scabbard Bone? Handle
I could find no (or very little) pitting on the blade. There is some surface rust, but the thicker darkening you see appears to be something else. I'm guessing dried sap or resin from prior use. Not sticky.
I wiped the blade and handle down with a spray cleaner, but I didn't try brightening or cleaning with steel wool or anything else - I leave it to the collector to do as he pleases.
The handle may be bone or horn. I am not an expert and that is my uneducated guess.
Total length is 27.5".
Original glue around the studs on the sheath has yellowed.
