Vintage Japanese Woman's Haori Kimono Jacket Silk Cover Up - Subtle Stripes

Description

This vintage Japanese haori jacket would have been worn on top of a vintage kimono on a chilly day. The retro feel of the patterning suggests it might be from the 1950s or 1960s.
Elegantly subtle design of vertical brushstrokes in gray, pink and green against an eggshell white background. A watercolor effect to each stripe. Slight crepe texture to the silk. Art to wear.
Haori do not cross over or tie with a sash, like a kimono does - they are meant to be worn open to reveal a bit of what is worn beneath.
All of the stitching is hidden (since it was hand-sewn) so technically these haori jackets are reversible. Sometimes the lining is as pretty as the outer jacket!
We do offer haori himo - the little woven ties that are hooked to the little fabric loops that you'll find on at the mid-front of the haori - but they are sold separately.  Choose one from the Haori Himo section of our store.
