Vintage Schwinn 27" Road Bike 10 Speed Wheel set with NOS Classic Gumwall Tires
Vintage Mid 1970s 27" Schwinn S-6 Road Bike Wheel Set, off a Vintage  Schwinn 10 Speed Bicycle. Bikes Like: Varsity, Continental, Suburban, Super Sport, and Others ,Can be used on the 5 speed models too. The Hubs are 36 hole Large Flange Schwinn Approved Hubs: The front has 100 mm and the Rear hub has 120 mm spacing and takes and has a 5 speed  freewheel with spoke protector, hubs are laced  to Schwinn S-6 Chrome plated Rims.  The hub Date Code is Front is is 76 and rear is 74 but You can use it on what ever 27" road bike you want, But for Scrutinized Restorations some people worry about part dates. The Wheels are  Nice, Vintage, Used but not abused, chrome is decent but has a hint of rust, spins decent and true,   the brake surface shows wear, spins smooth but I would repack the bearings in the hubs if you were going to use daily. Could use some cleaning an detailing. Comes with NOS 27" x 1 1/4" Gum wall Tires, Not Super old but no longer made. Comes as shown. Decent wheel set for a Retro Ride, Vintage Restoration, or L’Eroica Fun. Plenty of pictures for your inspection.
