Description
This is a vintage 1940s "United States Army" Flag / Banner. I believe this is a Recruitment Service banner. Originally, it would have been longer and would have had, "Recruitment Service" on the bottom. It was cut down and stitched along the bottom. The blue field is wool and I believe the letters / emblem are silk...but not certain. It is double-sided...two separate banners sewn together and both sides have the same design. It has a flat bar in the middle at the top running down about halfway and is inserted between the two sides. It measures 28" wide and 41" high. It looks like the upper corners have some old minor repair and there is minor damage here and there...tatters, small holes, minor stains, etc. Despite the flaws, it is a great piece and displays well.
