Description
View (yellow mount) by J. Davis Burton, The Tower of London series, photographed by special permission No. 8 is titled St. Peter?s Chapel, Built A.D., 1272. This is the ordinary Chapel of the Garrison, and contains, among others, the tombs of Lady Jane Grey and the Earl of Essex. Just in front of this Chapel the Countess of Salisbury, Anna Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey, Lord Dudley, and other prisoners of note were beheaded. Also, handwritten on edge of front mount reads: St. Peters Chapel, Tower London 3rd August 1869. View is in very good condition with good stereo effect.Please note that our scanner does not like curved mount views very well. Any lightness or reddish color effects at the bottom of the view or blue tones at the right are complements of the scanner.
